Our Story

The name Terzo comes from Italian word for “third”, and in our case, the third evolution of Metuchen’s longest standing restaurant.

The restaurant is led by executive chef Sergio Moutela, who brought a Michelin-starred restaurant experience from Portugal & Spain to Montclair with his opening of Tasca, which was quickly named New Jersey’s restaurant of the year, as well as Melovino, the most award winning meadery (honey wine producer) on an international level.

At Terzo, he showcases his unique culinary take on Italian cuisine with a rotating menu featuring homemade pastas and farm fresh ingredients â€‹from local growers and suppliers.

Our Vision

Terzo is not your average Jersey red sauce joint or a place for those seeking anything considered to be within a boundary of authentic cuisine. It is a place for those who appreciate the unexpected, and enjoying so in a Sinatra-free ambiance.
